Initiated Practitioner & Author
I didn't choose this path—it chose me. Like many who find their way to Mami Wata, I spent years feeling different without understanding why. The dreams came first. Then the unexplainable pull toward water. Then the knowing that wouldn't let me rest.
For a long time, I searched for answers in books, online forums, and conversations with elders. What I found was mostly confusion—fragments of truth mixed with fear, superstition, and misinformation. I knew there had to be something clearer, something real.
My initiation wasn't easy. It demanded everything—my assumptions, my fears, my old identity. But through the process, I found what I had been searching for: a direct relationship with the water spirits and a clear understanding of who I was meant to be.
What surprised me most was how practical the spiritual path could be. The rituals, the dreams, the guidance—none of it was as mysterious as the stories made it seem. It was ancient, yes. Powerful, absolutely. But also accessible to anyone willing to approach it with sincerity.
After my initiation, people started finding me. They sent messages describing dreams I recognized, feelings I understood, questions I had once asked myself. They were searching, just like I had been.
I realized the confusion I experienced wasn't unique—it was universal. So I decided to write the book I wished had existed when I was searching. Not an academic study. Not a collection of myths. A real guide from someone who has lived it.
Mami Wata: A Journey to Self-Initiation is that book. It contains everything I learned—the signs, the process, the practices, and the wisdom that transformed my life. I wrote it so you don't have to search as long as I did.
I approach this work with deep respect for the tradition and deep care for the seekers who find it. Everything in the book comes from lived experience and is shared with the intention of genuine help—not exploitation or sensationalism.
If the waters are calling you, I'm honored to help light the way.
